Portmeirion is a world famous English designer and manufacturer of ceramics and is located in the historical town of Stoke-on-Trent. Whilst Portmeirion itself is over 50 years old, having been founded in 1960, the company is even more steeped in the history of pottery by virtue of its association with Spode, the company that in fact invented fine bone china in the late 1700s!
Design has always been a hallmark of Portmeirion through the creative talents and influence of its founder, the late Susan Williams-Ellis and the company has retained its design flair and intuition with a variety of styles and ranges. Today Portmeirion is able to provide its customers with products that are sought after collectibles suitable for everyday use at a variety of occasions.
MIC Distributors is proud to carry the various “jewels” of the Portmeirion crown, including:
Botanic Garden – the now iconic range of ceramic crockery, designed in 1972 and based on antique botanical text books, it is this range that has given Portmeirion its place in tableware history; as well as an extremely loyal following amongst discerning consumers around the world.
Sophie Conran – designed in collaboration with the daughter of the famous designer and restaurateur, Sir Terence Conran, this range combines both aesthetics and functionality in a beautiful and durable range of contemporary cookware and tableware that can go from the oven to the table, and then into the dishwasher!
